The American Psychopathological Association

PSYCHOPATHOLOGY IN THE GENOME AND NEUROSCIENCE ERA

The 93rd Annual Meeting: March 6-8, 2003

Crowne Plaza Hotel Times Square Manhattan, New York, NY

Scientific Program

View Program

Recent advances in genetics and neuroscience promise to enhance our understanding of human behavior and psychopathology. How the field incorporates the coming avalanche of information will influence not only how mental health professionals diagnose and treat patients, but also how the next generation of professionals is trained. The goal of the 2003 annual meeting is to examine several specific areas where advances in genetics and neuroscience are likely to influence psychopathology research and education in the near future. These areas include understanding the influence of genetics on the diagnosis and prevention of psychiatric disorders and understanding the role of neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration in psychopathological processes.

The meeting is targeted to clinicians (psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses) and investigators in psychopathology, genetics and neurobiology.

At the end of the meeting, participants should be able to:
